Guide to Using Ami

Ami is an AI-bot that can help you engage with the vast body of knowledge within the thee-online website. Use it to get started in your enquiries about human functioning and to explore THEE.

Ami is a specialized entity, having been trained on THEE. You will not get an equivalent response from publicly available tools like ChatGPT, Grok or Gemini.

Ami has access to extensive conventional knowledge but only uses this as a context for handling your query.   Ami’s responses are based solely on thee-online.com and associated pdfs. That means it will provide you with perennial principles and not specifics like information or procedures.

Conversations:

You can follow on any initial question with supplementary questions to create a lengthy conversation that Ami will develop with you.

Only use the Reply option, if you want Ami to focus on its most recent response in the conversation.

It is important that any new question starts on a new webpage or Ami’s answer will be distorted by the existing conversation. Just click on “Create a new conversation”.

Coverage:

The Taxonomy has been developed over 45 years and investigations continue still. Its current state is such that most common questions are likely to receive a relevant response. Note that Ami has access to provisionally developed frameworks and these may introduce errors. Ami does not know the incomplete and draft frameworks in the Taxonomy Notes section. Ami will be periodically updated to include latest taxonomy developments and progress in AI technology.

Time:

Ami does not give instant answers: so relax!  A response usually arrives within 1 minute, but the system allows for up to 5 minutes. The time to get a response depends on the complexity of the question.

References:

Reference links are restricted to the webpages within the thee-online.com website.

References will vary in their direct relevance to your query. The shorter and more precise your query the more likely that references will be focused, because Ami can be easily distracted.

Response Quality:

Ami may only provide a partial response, and if you are not satisfied it can be worth clicking on “Yes” when it asks if you want it to investigate the topic further. However, if the answer has been reasonably complete, then the response may not be helpful or even relevant.

Remember that AI tools like Ami are still in their infancy. If Ami’s response is unhelpful or you believe its response is incorrect, you can try asking the same question in a different way or using alternative terms.

However, if you play tricks on Ami or simply keep repeating your question, you can degrade its performance to the point that it generates nonsense.

Privacy:

Be assured: All your conversations are private to you and there is no central record.

This means that, while you can have as many conversations open as you wish, when the browser tab is closed, its conversation is lost. If you wish to keep a conversation, copy and paste it into a MS-Word document (or equivalent) and store locally.

Mobile Devices:

Ami can be used on a smart phone, but the THEE website is designed for tablets and laptops only. Web links in responses will need to be opened on the smart phone and then uploaded to a suitable device for viewing.

Unlike in a PC, browsers in smart phones and tablets do not preserve multiple tabs and you cannot email or share them directly. If you want to keep or share an Ami response, you need to immediately save it as a pdf or copy and paste the text into another app.

VPN:

VPN can intermittently interfere with transmissions resulting in occasional failures to produce any response.  You are therefore advised to switch off VPN when using Ami.
